| SawStop's Award-winning Trademark Safety System
- The safety system detects the difference between wood and the operator. Should someone accidentally come in contact with the saw blade, the braking system engages the blade, stops it and pulls the blade below the table saw surface in milliseconds.
- The safety feature greatly minimizes the risk of serious injury. In most cases, such an accident on SawStop saw would result in just a "nick" instead of a devastating injury which would likely occur on an ordinary saw.
SawStop's patented Safety System
- Riving knife reduces the risk of kickback
- Diagnostic system ensures the saw is ready to respond
- Dust Collection Blade Guard
- Lock Out/Tag Out
- Door Interlocks

Additional Safety Features
- In addition to SawStop's award winning braking system, the saw also incorporates a 3 Point Electrical Safety System.
- The lockable main power supply control allows the operator to physically lock the switch to prevent unauthorized users and children from powering on the machine.
- Removable lock-out on the main power switch prevents the saw from running unless the key is engaged.
- The extra large start/stop "knee paddle" is ergonomically placed for quick hands-free shutoff.
Superior Fence System
- 36" or 52" T-Glide Fence & Rails
- T-Glide™ Fence System (optional accessory)
- SawStop's improved "T-style" design is engineered with 25% thicker steel than a Biesmeyer™. This translates into a more durable, heavier and straighter fence system.
- The fence locking adjustment is designed to force the far end of the fence onto the table for minimal movement. In addition, easy access openings in the fence bottom make it painless to replace the sides if needed.
99% Dust Collection System
-
The Blade Guard and Dust Shroud surround the saw blade to concentrate dust collection around the blade area. 99% of generated dust is collected above and below the table.
-
Better dust collection! SawStop incorporates unique features into the saw's design that provides a cleaner saw as well as a cleaner, safer work environment. The Centers for Disease Control classifies wood dust as a carcinogen. Don't use your lungs as your primary dust collector!

European Style Riving Knife
Some manufacturers do not differentiate between a spreader and a riving knife.
There are some important considerations when describing a true European style riving knife.
- A riving knife moves up and down and tilts with the blade, keeping a constant and minimal distance from the blade.
- The knife must be designed (integrated) into the blade arbor block such that it maintains its position relative to the blade.
The knife is designed so that the top of it is never above the top of the blade. This allows the operator to make non-through cuts while still enjoying the anti-kick back protection.
Quick Change Riving Knife & Blade Guard
- The exclusive self aligning, quick change system allows the user to quickly change from riving knife to the spreader and blade guard.
- One word…EASY! When reinstalling, there are no nuts, bolts or screws to undue. A simple turn of the lever, place the riving knife or the blade guard on the 2 pins and you’re done in seconds. It’s perfectly aligned every time.
How It Works
Detect
- The blade carries a small electrical signal.
- When skin contacts the blade, the signal changes because the human body is conductive.
- The change to the signal activates the safety system.
Activate
- An aluminum brake springs into the spinning blade, stopping it.
- The blade's angular momentum drives it beneath the table, removing the risk of subsequent contact.
- Power to the motor is shut off.
All this happens in less than 5 milliseconds!
Reset
- Resetting the saw yourself is easy. Simply replace the blade and affordable brake cartridge and your saw is operational.
- The entire reset process takes less than five minutes.

Higher Quality / Unique Design
- Poly V-Ribbed Belts
- Traditional table saw designs utilize standard V belts. SawStop uses Poly V-ribbed belts which have better torque and less mass which reduces vibration providing smoother cuts.
- 8" precision aligned chrome plated cast iron hand-wheels with gas shock assist on the elevation control.
- Easier to turn with minimal effort. Some customers describe the wheel adjustments as "silky smooth".
- SawStop arbor blocks are manufactured using ductile iron.
- Although it's higher quality and more expensive, ductile iron is easier to machine to specifications, has higher fatigue strength and is more impact resistant than grey iron.
Precision Alignment System
- Exclusive precision blade alignment system utilizes a high-tech linear travel design that is engineered for unparalleled adjustment ability.
- The tilt axis is adjustable to be perfectly parallel to the table, miter gauge tracks and the fence to virtually eliminate wood burn. The adjustment result is the difference between acceptable and perfect.
Heavier & Larger Construction
- 25% larger cast iron table top than other 10" cabinet saws on the market. SawStop's cabinet saw table measures 30" Deep X 44" Wide or 1,320 sq. inches without table extensions.
- Without an out-feed table, our table top is a larger, more stable work surface with reduced vibration due to increased mass.
- 25% heavier than most comparable table saws on the market. At 530 lbs, not including extensions, rails or fence, our cabinet saw is more stable and has more vibration dampening cast iron than any other 10" cabinet saw on the market.
- Larger, heavier duty arbor shaft and bearings. The main and secondary bearings are 62mm OD x 30mm ID and 52mm OD x 25mm ID respectively.
- Bigger bearings are stronger, more stable and last longer. Bearings are sealed and maintenance free. Larger arbor shaft is heavier, has greater strength with less flex.
- Oversized, heavy duty blade wrenches. More leverage to loosen and tighten the arbor nut with minimal effort.
Accessibility
- Two extra large removable cabinet access doors with interlock switches and a removable table top.
- Three easily accessible entries to the inside of the saw for adjustment, maintenance and cleaning. Interlock switches power off the machine if they are opened during operation which eliminates exposure to moving parts.
